This unit requires 8 size AAA  batteries

Open the battery enclosure as shown in photo, holding camera up-side down.

Install 8 AAA alkaline batteries in the holder and place the battery holder as shown in picture. Please observe label that states "This Side Out."

Fold the battery enclosure closed, holding the unit upside-down to prevent batteries from falling out.
Make sure no wires are getting pinched or caught in the edges of the unit while closing battery enclosure.
 
 

Push the red pulse button on the unit (A). You should see the orange light lit  (B). If it does not light, check to make sure batteries are installed properly or that they are fresh. The light may go out when making images. It is provided for battery testing only. The location of the light may vary.

WARNING! REMOVE BATTERIES WHEN TRANSPORTING THIS UNIT. THE PULSE BUTTON IS PRESSED VERY EASILY BY OTHER OBJECTS OR PRESSURE FROM THE OUTSIDE WHILE IN A CAMERA CASE, PURSE, OR SUITCASE. NOT ONLY CAN THIS POSE A FIRE HAZARD, BUT IT CAN ALSO BURN OUT THE COILS IN THE UNIT. THIS IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY
